Cyril also founded the New Orleans Musicians Organized (NOMO), which helps musicians who need business advice with their careers.

By Crystal Price bio emailLAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) As more customers qualify for low income energy assistance this summer, Entergy is running out of funds for all those in need of assistance.Entergy participates in the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) every year.Sheila Pounders, the regional customer service manager for Entergy, said the extremely warm temperatures and effects of the oil spill have increased the amount of customers in need of assistance.Pounders said at current funding Entergy can only support 20% of those in need of funding and they have even had to turn to emergency funds to assist those in need.”It doesn bridge the gap,” said Pounders. “It not enough so we one of the strong supporters trying to increase that funding if necessary.”Consumer advocates and Entergy employees visited Capitol Hill Wednesday to ask Congress for increased funding.Entergy is asking the government to raise their funding from $5.1 million to $7.6 million.Geneia Haley of Lake Charles receives assistance from LIHEAP, and she says she can imagine where she would be without their assistance.”It does bother me that they losing money,” said Haley. “A lot of people need it and it very helpful for them.”For more information on how to apply for the LIHEAP program, feel free to make an appointment with the Calcasieu Community Action office at (337) 437 3560.
