2/18/10 Rock Hill, SC: Football brothers Gerald Dixon of South Pointe, left, and Gerald Dixon of Northwestern, are the sons of former USC star linebacker Gerald Dixon, who is an assistant coach at Rock Hill High. Northwestern Dixon is the oldest of the brothers by about six months. While they currently play for opposing teams and have done so since middle school.
For the first time, I saw a little quit in them. They looked like a team that had begun to feel sorry for itself, that made a lot of the same old mistakes and hung its head when things went against them. You can have 20 days of playing football. Everything else, every other day, is a grind: working out, travelling, long meetings and practices. Sometimes it just not fun to be out there.. This season is only the beginning of what Brickley hopes to be a jump start to the rebuilding of the Soledad football program. With his motivation and a revived enthusiasm for football within the community, more freshmen turned out than ever before. For the first time in the school’s history, Soledad will have a freshmen squad.
